Donation Publication Acceptance Conditions

• Publications that support the educational, research and cultural activities of the university,
• Publications that are not in the library collection (except for frequently used / textbooks or basic sources),
• Publications from information sources on Science and technology whose publication date is not older than 5 years,
• Publications in the field of Social Sciences with a publication date not older than 20 years (however, the year limitation does not apply to information sources that are out of print and whose necessity for the collection is deemed appropriate by the commission),
• Publications with full binding integrity in multi-volume works,
• Original and undamaged materials from audio-visual sources,
• Periodicals that have complete issue integrity or complete the missing/damaged issues in the existing collection,
• Publications in which regular submission from current periodicals will be provided by the donating person/institution,

• Donation acceptance, the qualities of the collection to be donated, transportation and shipping options should be evaluated by contacting the communication channels given below in advance regarding the resources to be donated.
• Publications received as donations and accepted by the Commission are put into service after technical and in-kind procedures are carried out,
• The conditions should be evaluated together by discussing with the administration regarding donations other than library materials planned to be made to our library.
• Special place requests of donors or institutions are unacceptable in order not to disrupt the shelf integrity of the collection,
• The name of the person or organization that donated the resource is recorded on the information source.
• When necessary, personnel may be assigned to select the information sources to be donated on site,
• Publications that are worn, with missing pages, that are not considered physically healthy, that are contrary to general moral and legal rules, national unity and solidarity, or that are reproduced by photocopying are not accepted,
• Information resources that are not included in the collection can be returned to the donor, provided that the transportation expenses are covered by the donor,
• If the donor accepts, surplus donation publications can be sent to other libraries in need at the initiative of the Library,
• Publications that are physically damaged or outdated in terms of content are sent for recycling.

Donation Publication Request Conditions

• Institutions, Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations can request donations from the resources available in the library for reasons such as excess copies, content, etc.,
• The Donation Request application is made in writing,
• In the donation request application, Address, Contact person, Phone and e-mail information and cargo company preference should be stated in detail,
• Publications sent as donations should be recorded as "Donation of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University",
• The shipping cost of the publications requested as donations is covered by the requester.
