Interlibrary cooperation (ILL) is the service of providing books or articles that are not available in our library from libraries in Turkey or abroad in order to support academic studies at our University. Full-time academic staff working at our university can request to borrow books from other university libraries through the Interlibrary Cooperation Service.

Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Personnel Conditions of Utilization
- Before making a request, it should be confirmed that the book is not in our collection by checking the library catalog and electronic sources.
- Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University academic staff who want to borrow books from other research institutions submit their request to the librarian responsible for Interlibrary Cooperation with the "ILL Book Request Form" on our library website.
- The borrowing period, the number of books that can be borrowed, and the conditions regarding the extension depend on the policy of the library to which the request is made. (Periodicals, rare works, short-term loaned (reserve collection) books, reference sources and audio-visual materials cannot be borrowed).
- When the book to be borrowed reaches our library, the user is notified by phone or e-mail.
- In order to extend the return period of the book, the relevant librarian must be notified of the extension request at least 1 week before the return date.
- The requesting user is obliged to pay the shipping fee of the books brought and returned.
- Any criminal liability arising from delay, wear or loss is covered by the claimant.
Since the failure to return, wear or loss of borrowed publications on time may cause an embargo on an institutional basis; It is important to use resources carefully and in due time.
Conditions for Other Libraries to Benefit from Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Menteşe Library
- The library that wants to borrow books from Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Menteşe Library is deemed to have accepted the provisions of the Muğla University Libraries Regulation.
- Before making a request, it should be determined whether the book is in the collection of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Menteşe Library by scanning the Web Catalog.
- On the catalog search result page, the Loan status should be "Anyone Can Buy" in the volume/copy information field of the resource.
- The types of resources listed below are not available for loan, and their volume/copy information in the Web Catalog is indicated as "Not Available for Loan".
- Application works (dictionaries, encyclopedias, indexes, etc.),
- Periodicals (magazines, newspapers, news bulletins, etc.),
- Textbooks,
- Reserved (reserve) books,
- Resources in unit libraries,
- Printed or non-printed theses,
- See-and-hear materials such as atlases, maps, slides,
- On the catalog search result page, if the Status of the requested resource appears as "Publication Available" in the volume/copy information field, the resource is on another user at that time and should wait for the Status to be "Available" to make a request,
- Researchers who want to borrow books from our library submit their requests to the ILL authorized librarian of the institution they are affiliated with. The authorized librarian notifies the requests to Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Menteşe Library by logging into the Interlibrary Cooperation Tracking System (KITS) program,
- A maximum of 10 books are given to the libraries of universities and research institutions for 30 days.
- If there is no reservation/reserve over the duration of the borrowed books, it can be extended 1 (one) time.
- When there are overdue books in the account of the library that wants to borrow books, new requests from the library in question will not be processed.
- A delay penalty of 50 Kurus per day is charged for each book whose return period has passed.
- A reminder letter is sent by e-mail to the library that has overdue books in its account. If the book is not returned despite the reminders, the lost book procedure is applied and the requests from this library are not met unless the penalty determined for this is paid and the book is returned.
- The requesting library is responsible for any damages (including loss of return, damage or loss) that may arise during the use of the books.
- The requesting library is obliged to pay the shipping fee of the books sent and returned.
